Kubica tests Formula E at Donington

.

Robert Kubica appears to be ramping up his efforts to return to single seater racing after testing a Formula E car at Donington on Tuesday.

Sources are reporting that the former BMW and Renault F1 driver, who sampled a GP3 racer in Italy last month, is considering an opportunity to race in the burgeoning all-electric series.

For now, Kubica is apparently looking at a one-off, perhaps at the New York ePrix in July where two vacancies exist, at DS Virgin and Renault e.dams, thanks to the clashing Nurburgring round of the WEC where regular FE drivers Jose Maria Lopez, Sam Bird and Sebastian Buemi shall be racing.

Kubica recently pulled out of privateer ByKolles' LMP1 program in the World Endurance Championship, just days before the season kicked off at Silverstone.

Formula E organisers would certainly welcome Kubica's involvement in the series which has been gathering pace lately thanks to official manufacturer interest and implication.
