In Q1, Grosjean messed up on his fast lap and was thereafter left with no grip and having to deal with traffuc. He clocked in with the exact same time as Alonso, but the Spaniard had done lap first and thus advanced to Q2. On Sunday he was in the crowded midfield mix when he lost a bargeboard, forcing an unscheduled stop and an end to his chances for points.
