One of Michael Schumacher's sponsors has opened an exhibition celebrating the seven-time world champion's career in Germany.

Deutsche Vermögensberatung has been one of Schumacher's backers for over twenty years, and has moved to mark the partnership with the exhibition in Marburg, north of Frankfurt. The two-year showcase is open to the public and free of charge.

The exhibition - titled 'Michael Schumacher – Record-holding World Champion. 20 years of Partnership with Deutsche Vermögensberatung' - is located in the Centre for Investment Advice in Marburg and features "privately-owned exhibits never before shown to the public".

With a number of Schumacher's race-winning Formula 1 cars on display, the exhibition aims to "allow insights into the ways in which the record Formula 1 world champion redefined the profession of auto racing".

The company says the exhibition is an example of its "unwavering dedication to the partnership" following the skiing accident Schumacher suffered in December 2013 which left him with severe head injuries. Deutsche Vermögensberatung has since gone on to support Schumacher's son - Mick - as he progresses through the junior motorsport categories.

The exhibition will run continuously until January 2018.
