Mercedes has followed Honda and Ferrari in releasing a video of its 2016 power unit firing up.

With the team set to shake down its new car this week at Silverstone, Mercedes released a video of its new power unit for its 2016 car - the W07 - firing up on Monday, with a configuration of two wastegate pipes below the main exhaust.

You can watch the video via the embedded tweet below:

The Mercedes power unit has been the dominant engine since the new regulations were introduced in 2014, with the works team going on to win 32 of the 38 races over the past two seasons.

Andy Cowell - managing director of Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains - recently said he doesn't see development of the current power unit technology slowing down any time soon.

This year Mercedes will also supply Williams, Force India and Manor with power units.
