Force India's Esteban Ocon believes that rookie Lance Stroll will turnaround his performance following a troubled start to his F1 career.

Yesterday saw the Williams driver fail to pass the Q1 cut in qualifying for his home Grand Prix, a result which disappointed the Canadian's as much as Stroll himself.

Le Journal de Montreal compared the 18-year-old's current performance with another young driver who, like Stroll last year, also won the European F3 championship, Esteban Ocon.

But Ocon labeled any compare as unfair given the difference in experience which separates the two hopefuls.

"First, I have more experience than him, which makes all the difference," insisted the Force India driver who has scored points in every race this season except in Monaco two weeks ago.

"I was better prepared than him," said the Frenchman.

"I did a lot of testing with some important teams. Also, I drove and rubbed shoulders with several F1 drivers before that."

Nonetheless, 20-year-old Ocon tipped Stroll to improve soon.

"He'll find a solution. He's a good driver," he said.
