FERRARI KEEPS UP THE DEVELOPMENT PACE
Besides a revised front suspension, the Ferrari SF70H featured another pair of evolutions in Spa, hinting at a higher pace of development from the Scuderia this year.
At the front, the Maranello aerodynamicists removed a flap on the upper endplate, probably in order to limit drag.
Meanwhile, the number of floor slots decreased from seven to six, while a new deflector was also installed ahead of the rear wheel. The latter design shares some common DNA with a similar component introduced by Mercedes in Barcelona.
These elements help prevent turbulent and low-pressure air from disrupting the diffuser (more details on the tyre squirt phenomenon can be found here).
