McLAREN VETOES RETURN OF SHARK FINS
As it stands, shark fin engine covers are banned in the 2018 technical regulations. However, the FIA and several teams have been keen to re-introduce the controversial design and thought the decision would be rubber-stamped during a meeting of the F1 Strategic Group last week. To that end, a unanimous agreement was needed but McLaren stunned everyone when the British team vetoed the move. This means a compromise will have to found, otherwise the shark fins will not return next year.
