Bottas seemed to be off-song all throughout the weekend. Never really on form, he was more than a half-second off Hamilton in qualifying. In the race, he was never in contention and it got worse. When the safety car pulled off, he was passed by Ricciardo and Räikkönen, who, yes, were on softer tyres, but Lewis held off Vettel in a similar circumstance.
