From F1 to Indy: a crossover of diverse fortunes

Peter Revson

Just like Fernando Alonso, Peter Revson was a full-time McLaren driver in F1 when he took time out to race in the Indy 500 in 1972 and '73. Without any success unfortunately. But Revson, always a favorite of the Indy crowd,  had previously put his works McLaren on pole at the Brickyard in 1971, finishing second that year to Al Unser.
