The other Jacques Villeneuve

Look back Jacques-Joseph Villeneuve

While 1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve is a well-known figure in the Formula One community, his namesake's career in the top flight was a more low key affair. Jacques-Joseph Villeneuve, Gilles’ brother and Jacques’ uncle, entered two F1 grands prix with Arrows in Canada and at Las Vegas in 1981, but failed to qualify on both occasions. He tried his luck again on home soil two years later with RAM, but achieved the same DNQ result. The other Jacques Villeneuve would then compete in CART and IMSA, where he enjoyed more success.
