Big Dan gets it done for Brabham at Rouen

On this day in 1964, Dan Gurney delivered to Jack Brabham's team its very first win in the Formula 1 world championship.

The lanky American, driving a Climax-powered BT7, battled Jim Clark at the French Grand Prix at Rouen but was left alone at the front when the Scot's engine expired at half distance.

The race was also Dan Gurney's second career win in Formula 1.
