Thirty years ago on this day, Ayrton Senna (pictured here celebrating with his Lotus mechanics) won his first ever Formula One Grand Prix at a rain-soaked Estoril, round two of the 1985 world championship. Having secured his maiden pole position in qualifying, the Brazilian then gave a masterclass in wet conditions to lap the entire field except second-placed Michele Alboreto. A star was born.
