SUSPENSION, A PRIORITY?

In which area do you expect there will be more development?

“I think there are two areas, starting with the suspension, because of the tyres. We’ve run the new 2017 tyres now and have a lot of downforce for them to support. So, how you tune the mechanical grip versus your platform (aero) control for supporting that downforce is very important. I’m sure that we will continue to develop, maybe even if you’re not entirely happy with the kinematics of your suspension in the way it treats the tyres. I’m sure the suspension and set-up in general as well as everything associated with that will develop a lot during the season.”

“I think the most noticeable will be aero, because it is still the biggest area controlled by the teams. I think for everyone there is still a lot to find. I looked at what we are targeting for 2018 for example and it’s another big step, which is hard to even imagine having now.”
